Blurb:
A novel to set your heart on fire! Love, lust, career, ambition, drive for success, failure, marriage, infidelity. Honey and the moon is the story of an ambitious career woman – Srishti. A woman who doesn’t blink to participate in a man’s world, but a woman who is also equally needy inside for a man to be there to support and love her. Conflicts of career success, relationship highs and lows and even infidelity enter Shrishti’s journey as she finds love, finds success, loses them and tries to find them again. Shrishti has courage to deal with life. But will she finally have it all drawn together in her maverick heart? Her story is a racy kaleidoscope of non-conformity and adventure.
My thoughts:
After reading the title I though it’d be a cliche romantic book, but believe me it’s so much more.
Shrishti our protagonist represents most of the working women who defy societal norms and want to wait for the right one in their life. She is a women running high on success envied by her colleagues, but she still feels that void in her life waiting for her perfect match. And here comes Atharv who loves her, supports her and is her pillar. Because of some situation Shrishti again feels a void in her marital life and finds solace in a colleague and college friend.
She has to fight her own demons and know the difference between lust and love. She represents every women and portrays an example for them to fight the odds and emerge as strong as ever to love yourself and to know what and who is right for you to break free from the iron cage that the society has created for us to emerge as a free bird spreading her wings high up in the sky to achieve the unachievable.
Writing style:
Writing would have been more refined. The book starts with a slow pace but you got to hold on to it, because it soon catches up some speed. The characterization is really good. The characters are very relatable and seem to be real. It’s not a gripping read or anything but it does put highlight on WHAT WOMEN WANT!!
