Title: When The Devil Whispers
Author: Ajinkya Bhasme
Genre: Crime, Thriller and Mystery
Publisher: Notion Press
Publication date: 5thOctober 2018
Pages: 178 Pages
Read on: Kindle paperwhite
Reading time (approx.): 1.5 to 2.5 hours
My ratings:
Blurb:
Inspired by real events that changed the course of Indian judiciary-

Trust no one; the devil walks amongst us.
She sees everything and hears everything.
And if She ever whispers to you,
you must obey.
Shalini now knows that death is not the worst that can happen.
Why did a tolerant country like India sentence two women to be hanged to death for the very first time?
Will Shalini survive the wrath of her kidnapper
or will death greet her early to relieve her from her misery?
My thoughts:
If this book is adapted into a movie or a web series count me in, I love it to the core. One of the best thriller I read so far. This book keeps you hooked from the first paragraph itself.
The plot revolves around a girl being kidnapped who doesn’t remember anything and develops into her recalling all the events. The book at the starts seems like a horror read but later develops into crime thriller.
My favourite characters are the three policemen, I could love to see them solve more of such cases. One surely wouldn’t regret trading their sleep to read this book. It is one of the books which send a chill down your spine and keep you glued till the very end. There were times the character development seemed incomplete because I was more focused on knowing what happens next.
I would definitely recommend everyone to give this book a shot.
Writing style:
The writing was very gripping and captivating. It kept me wanting for more. There are not many grammatical errors as such. And the language used is quite simple. The character development would have been better and more defined overall it’s an amazing book for a debut. The bar sure is set high with this book.
